Let me take a minute to tell you a little about myself. My name is Bill and I live in a small town in East Texas about 40mi (66 kilometers) Southwest of Shreveport, Louisiana. I am married (since December, 8th of 1997) as can be seen in the wedding photo of my wife, Tracie, and me. We have a family that consists of six dogs, one bird and two aquariums. We have no actual children.
My ABBA adventure began in 1973. I was just an ordinary kid in elementary school when I first heard the song "People Need Love" and was hooked. This was my first ABBA related purchase. I bought (or was given by my parents) a copy of "People Need Love", a 45rpm on the Playboy Record label. However, this was before ABBA became ABBA and the single was released under their names "Benny, Bjorn, Anna and Frida". I still have this single, I cherish it, and it remains in excellent condition. Through these last 28+ years I have accumulated entirely too much ABBA related stuff. No, it's not for sale! And I will not bother to scan my whole collection and display it on the internet because you can see pictures of ABBA collectables all over the Internet. I simply want to give you an idea of how much I have enjoyed the music of ABBA. My collection includes:
As you may be able to tell I really have enjoyed ABBA's music throughout my life. I truly consider it to be a blessing. It has made me laugh and smile, helped me through hard times, sad times and allowed me to meet and make many new friends. All of this because of a Pop Band, Wow!
I, however, am not the type of person who listens only to ABBA even though they are my favorite music group. I have been a music fanatic as long as I can remember and I keep my ears busy listening to all types of music. My music interests are quite varied. I listen to Pop, Rock, Jazz, New Age, Country/Western and even Classical. I currently have about 2500 pieces of recorded vinyl music and approximately 1500 Compact Discs. Additionally, we spend a great deal of time interacting with our dogs and our bird "Mochi" (pronounced "Moe-Key") who is a Goffins Cockatoo. I enjoy keeping my Aquariums, both saltwater and freshwater and have been keeping tropical fish more that 30 years now. We both enjoy fine art and reading. Tracie likes Christian reading, novels and Biographies. I enjoy Christian reading, Science Fiction and hard core Science writing espescially books on Physics, and Nature.
